ROONEY CAN HANDLE THE JEERS

Petikan dari laman MU

Sir Alex is backing Wayne Rooney to handle the hostile atmosphere at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The United striker has been jeered on every return to his former club following his big-money move to Old Trafford and it will be no different this weekend. After starting on the bench for the previous trip to his native Merseyside earlier in the month, Rooney will be hoping to start this time around and the boss is expecting the England international to deliver the goods. "Wayne's had mixed success going to Everton," explained the manager. "He's scored a couple of goals there. "He gets booed as normal. He got booked in one game and I took him off because he'd been yellow-carded and there was no way I was going to give the referee an opportunity to send him off. "That's where the hype around the ground in terms of him getting booed every time he makes a challenge comes into it. He's had mixed fortunes there but he's scored a couple of goals and done well in some of the games and hopefully that'll be the case tomorrow." CLEVERLEY BUZZING TO BE BACK

Tom Cleverley discusses his return to fitness with Gemma Thompson ...

You must be delighted to be back after spending six weeks on the sidelines? Definitely. The injury was bad timing. I was in the team, I was playing well and enjoying myself. These things happen in football though and you've just got to work hard on getting yourself fit, listen to what the physios say and stay upbeat.

How good did it feel to be back in action against Aldershot? It felt great. It helps when you've got fantastic players around you as you can bed yourself in and work your way up to being 100 per cent.

A lot of fans have said how much they feel the team has missed you in recent weeks - that must be nice to hear but does it put extra pressure on you? It's always nice to hear, but there's a bit of pressure [on everyone] anyway because last weekend's game was a bad result. At the start of the season, the whole team was very fluent and we were playing fantastic football. The games have been harder in recent weeks and it's very flattering to hear fans say they've missed me.

What do comments like that say about how far you've come this season? It's been brilliant. Things went a little better than I expected at the start of the season and then I was disappointed to get injured, but I'm buzzing to be back now and hopefully we can get back to winning ways on Saturday.

Is there a positive feeling in the camp despite the derby result? Yes definitely. We've got a great team spirit. We'll regroup and go forward from here.

Syamir hari ini

Pagi-pagi dia dapat mandi kat pool. Bukan main suka lagi dia.
Balik dari IOI petang tadi, pool masih belum disimpan. Apa lagi bila si kecik ni ternampak maka sibuklah nak main air lagi. Menangis-nangis tak sabar. Masalahnya on the way balik tadi dia ek ek. Lum basuh lagi. Sepanjang nak bersihkan dia, bukan main kuat lagi dia 'menyanyi'. Bila dah masuk air, sukalah dia. Mama diapun join masuk dalam pool. Tapi......akhirnya bila nak suruh keluar dari pool tu, 'hujan lebat' turun lagi. Bukan main kuat lagi.
Masa makan malam tadi, mama dia masakkan kuetiau sup. Sebelum makan dia dah habiskan sebiji buah pear. Jadi aku ingatkan dia taklah lapar sangat. Tambahan pulak tadi masa kat IOI mall, dia dah makan roti dengan sup. Tapi rupa-rupanya sangkaan aku meleset sama sekali. Dia macam orang tengah kebulur. Apa lagi kelam-kabutlah aku dibuatnya. Sup kuetiau tu masih panas, jadi aku kena tiup dulu sebelum suap dia. Tiap kali suap dia terus ngap. Belum sempat aku tiup yang baru, mulut dia dah nganga besar. Tapi bila agak lama, sup tu dahpun sejuk. Jadi tak payahlah aku tiup lagi sebelum suap dia. Jadi akupun senduk dan terus suap. Tapi si kecik ni lain pulak. Bukannya dia terus makan. Kali ni dia pulak yang tiup kuetiau sup tu. Fuh, fuh dia tiup. Dah puas dia tiup, baru dia makan. Pulak!

Emak, bapak, misah dan adik datang rumah

Semalam adik aku Kori buat kenduri potong jambul anak ketiga dia di rumah mertua dia kat Kg LB Johnson, Negeri Sembilan. Dia orang ni kalau kereta tak penuh, macam tak sah dibuatnya. Orang rumah aku baru telefon Misah, rupanya dia orang lama singgah di Melaka. Ni tak sampai lagi Johor.

Report: Liverpool 1 United 1

Substitute Javier Hernandez came up trumps with a late equaliser at Liverpool to earn a precious point for the champions. United were forced to come from behind and battle hard for a point after Steven Gerrard broke the deadlock with a free-kick and Chicharito's predatory header after Danny Welbeck headed on a Nani corner meant a lot more than his consolation at Anfield in last season's fixture. The manager sprung a few surprises with his team selection with Wayne Rooney and Nani left on the bench, Phil Jones playing in midfield and Danny Welbeck starting in a lone attacker's role. Skipper Nemanja Vidic missed out despite representing Serbia in midweek. There were a lot of misplaced passes in a frenetic first half with neither side really able to stamp too much influence on the proceedings. United's first glimpse of goal came after a quarter of an hour when Welbeck's positive play eventually led to Patrice Evra crossing from the left and Phil Jones heading into the side-netting. The Reds limited the chances at the other end but Gerrard's dangerous cross evaded everybody in the middle before the clearest opening of the first period came on 35 minutes. Charlie Adam's shot bounced kindly into the path of Luis Suarez, who turned Jonny Evans but could only shoot straight at David De Gea, who made a vital save. Darren Fletcher and Ji-sung Park were off target with speculative efforts as Sir Alex will have been pleased with his side's contribution to a tight opening 45 The second half instantly had a more open feel to it with Ashley Young coming into the game with dramatic effect, mustering three shots in the opening six minutes. Liverpool replied with a hopeful handball shot against Jonny Evans when Dirk Kuyt got his head to a corner and a Suarez effort that was comfortably saved by De Gea. Although Suarez remained a constant threat, the Reds looked in control until Rio Ferdinand was penalised for a trip on Adam, even though replays showed any contact was minimal. Gerrard stepped up to find a gap in the wall and place a shot into the net past De Gea. Sir Alex had planned to introduce Rooney and Nani in any case and the duo immediately replaced Young and Park. Nani slashed a wild attempt well wide before Hernandez strengthened the attack even further by coming on for Jones. Jose Enrique escaped a handball in the box when Nani kicked the ball at him but the pressure started to build and the substitutes made an impact. Nani's corner was headed on by Welbeck for Hernandez to divert into the net and plunder the equaliser with nine minutes left. With the match bubbling into life in extraordinary fashion, De Gea had to pull off a marvellous save to deny Kuyt following a superb delivery by Downing from the left. There was another scare from Adam's corner but Nani eventually cleared and both teams looked for the winner in the closing stages, with the hosts building up a head of steam. Jordan Henderson tested De Gea's reflexes with a late volley after Downing fizzed a drive well wide and a desperate scramble in injury time saw Martin Skrtel slash wide following a brilliant clearing header by Rooney to frustrate Suarez. The final opportunity fell to Henderson whose header just cleared the bar with United hearts in their mouths. But this was a job well done by the champions, who can be pleased with a share of the spoils from one of the most testing fixtures on the calendar.

Liverpool Previews: BOSS WANTS COOL HEADS

Sir Alex is determined United will keep calm in the Anfield cauldron on Saturday and finish the game with 11 men on the pitch. Sendings off have seriously hindered the Reds' hopes in recent years and the manager has also acknowledged Liverpool's improvement under Kenny Dalglish.
"In my time, we've had about nine players sent off in games there which is unusual for Manchester United," declared the boss. "That is down to the atmosphere which can be created there. It's something you have to deal with.
"Last season, we were playing really well in the game and made two really bad errors to give the goals away. It was hard to overcome that. In the previous two seasons, we had players sent off. There are issues you have to deal with - your temperament and composure in these situations to make sure you handle these sorts of things."
Dalglish will bid to outdo his old adversary with the two Scots on the touchline again this weekend.
"He's what the fans wanted and I think there has been an improvement," added Sir Alex. "They've bought a lot of players. They've gone for it financially and the owners have supported Kenny very well. At the end of the day you would always expect Liverpool to be challenging at least for a Champions League place."

Liverpool Previews: RIO SEEKS RIGHT INGREDIENTS FOR ANFIELD

Rio Ferdinand believes the right blend of youth and experience is crucial as United head to Liverpool without several elder statesmen who were at the club last term.
"It is just another part of the youngsters' learning curve. It is great for these young guys to be able to go to Anfield with Manchester United, to feel the environment and atmosphere that is put in front of you. To become top players, you have to be able to adapt and apply yourself in different environments. This is a hostile place, but one there is no better place to win at as a United player. Our manager is the best in the business at mixing youth and experience. If he feels we need youth and experience mixed in, then great. Experience is valuable, so is youth. The mixture will be vital.
"I would say it's the biggest game for the players. We have played a couple of the teams who are normally around us in the league at home, but this is away. Regardless of what part of the season it is, going to Anfield is always huge for us. It's a game we look forward to and one I'm sure the fans are really excited about."

Tapi mampukah The Red menewaskan The Red Devils. Jika dilihat prestasi semasa, harapan tersebut agak samar. United vs Norwich

Dipetik dari sini

United v Norwich

Story updated 30/09/11, 10:07

United look to get back to winning ways against newly-promoted Norwich...

Form Guide United are still unbeaten in 2011/12 but have drawn the last two games - 1-1 at Stoke and 3-3 against Basel in midweek. The Canaries moved into the top half of the table with a deserved 2-1 triumph over Sunderland on Monday evening, their second win on the trot after beating Bolton 2-1 at the Reebok Stadium. Paul Lambert's side will be hoping for another good day in the North West, having also drawn 1-1 at Wigan on the opening day.

Ins and Outs Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney were both declared fit by Sir Alex Ferguson in his Friday morning press conference. The boss also hopes to have Jonny Evans back to bolster a back four still missing Chris Smalling (groin) and longer-term absentees Nemanja Vidic and Rafael. Meanwhile, the midfield ranks look healthy with only two - Tom Cleverley and Darron Gibson - ruled out. Norwich are without Reds loanee Ritchie De Laet and knee-injury victim James Vaughan. Steve Morison was preferred to captain Grant Holt as a lone attacker against Sunderland.

Last Meeting In April 2005, the Reds crashed to an embarrassing 2-0 defeat at Carrow Road - not even bringing Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy off the bench could yield an upturn in fortunes. Dean Ashton and Leon McKenzie got the goals against an under-strength and under-par United side.

Top Man Marc Tierney has come up the hard way and is making up for lost time at the top level. The shaven-headed defender was outstanding in the win

Manager has to be king

SIR ALEX: MANAGER HAS TO BE KING

Sir Alex Ferguson has reiterated his long-held belief that nobody is more important than the manager at a football club.

The United boss, who is approaching a remarkable 25 years in his post, has praised both his Manchester City counterpart Roberto Mancini for his handling of the Carlos Tevez situation this week and also Saturday's opposite number Paul Lambert for his work at Norwich.

Although not wishing to be drawn on the Tevez saga, Sir Alex did state: "I can see Mancini is showing strength and character. Strength is important in today's management. We all experience our own difficulties in management and you cope with it the best you can. In my own experience, strong management is important. No-one is more important than the manager at a football club."

Paul Lambert is the latest fellow Scot to pit his wits against Sir Alex in the Barclays Premier League and the boss has been impressed with the former midfielder, a Champions League winner with Borussia Dortmund in 1997.

"I remember Paul as a kid at St Mirren and the next time he faced me, he was at Dortmund when we played the 1997 semi-final," said Sir Alex. "He's one of the few Scotsmen to win a European medal outside a Scottish team. He's started out well at Norwich, they're playing with a great sense of purpose and you can see progress every week. It's been a good move for the lad."
